Q1: What are the assumptions regarding the multi-market products under consideration in Cyprus and Greece?

A1: The following assumptions apply:

  • The multi-market products under consideration are currently in Cyprus.

  • Some batches (or parts of batches) may be physically located in Greece but were originally uploaded under Cyprus.

  • Any products intended only for the Greek market must be uploaded directly to Greece as new products. Retrospective uploads are no longer supported.

Q2: What will happen if Greece is added as a market for a product but the associated serial numbers are not uploaded to Greece?

A2: Since retrospective uploads are not possible, this scenario must be avoided.

If Greece is added without the relevant serial numbers being uploaded to HMVS:

  • Pack updates (PSUM/PSUN): Updates will be sent to both Greece and Cyprus. HMVS in Greece will not recognize the serials and will raise alerts.

  • Verifications (VBOP): HMVS in Greece will not recognize the serials and will respond with errors.

  • Cyprus: No impact for packs already uploaded and known to Cyprus.

In practice: serial numbers must be uploaded to HMVS at the time Greece is added.

Q3: What will happen if Greece is added as a market for a product and the associated serial numbers are uploaded to Greece?

A3: If serial numbers are uploaded to HMVS when Greece is added as a market:

  • PPD (Product Pack Data): Both Greece and Cyprus will hold the batch data. Cyprus will continue to consider the packs valid.

  • Pack updates (PSUM/PSUN): Updates will be sent to both Greece and Cyprus, and both NMVSs will recognize the serials.

  • Verifications (VBOP): Packs will be recognized in both markets.

  • Pharmacy scanning: No issues in either Greece or Cyprus.

Q4: What issues could arise if HMVS is unaware of certain serial numbers when packs are scanned in Greece?

A4: If HMVS does not hold the serials:

  • Alerts will be raised in Greece.

  • Verifications will fail.

  • IMT (Inter-Market Transaction) requests may be misdirected.

This situation must be avoided by ensuring serial numbers are always uploaded to HMVS when Greece is added as a market.

Q5: How will pack updates (PSUM/PSUN) be handled between Greece and Cyprus when Greece is added as a market?

A5:

  • If serial numbers are correctly uploaded to Greece: Both Greece and Cyprus will process the updates normally.

  • If serial numbers are missing in Greece: HMVS will reject the updates and raise alerts.

Q6: What is the impact on Cyprus when batch details are uploaded to both Greece and Cyprus?

A6:

  • Packs from existing batches already uploaded to Cyprus will not be impacted.

  • Packs from Greece that belong to new batches must be uploaded properly for each market.

  • No retrospective uploads are possible, so uploads must be planned upfront for all intended markets.

Q7: What is the impact on Greece when batch details are uploaded to both Greece and Cyprus?

A7:

  • If batch data and serial numbers are uploaded to HMVS from the beginning, packs scanned in Greek pharmacies will be recognized without issue.

  • If data is missing, packs will not be recognized, and Greece will raise alerts. Retrospective uploads are no longer an option.
