Market Updates

  • Retrospective market updates are not possible.

  • If an OBP needs to modify the list of target markets, a new version of the product code must be created with the correct market list.

⚠️ Important:

  • A batch can only be linked to one version of a product code.

  • Batches already associated with a previous version cannot be reassigned to a new version.

IMT’s Role

The Inter-Market Transaction (IMT) process ensures smooth cross-market distribution:

  • If a national system does not recognize a pack, it issues an IMT request via the EU Hub.

  • The EU Hub relays the request to the market that holds the relevant pack data.

  • That market then responds for verification or state change.

➡️ This ensures that distribution and serialization across markets remain seamless, compliant, and aligned with EU-wide regulations, even when markets differ in their data holdings.
