As per the DR: "when wholesalers and persons authorized or entitled to supply medicinal products to the public query the repository for the purposes of verification of authenticity and decommissioning of a unique identifier, the response time of the repository, not considering the speed of the internet connection, shall be lower than 300 milliseconds in at least 95 % of queries. The repository performance shall allow wholesalers and persons authorized or entitled to supply medicinal products to the public to operate without significant delay".
However, in case of some issue in the communication between the Hub and the NMVS, the Hub will always try during 24h.
When a National System or OBP system is offline, the HUB will retry to send the message after 0.1 second, 0.5 second and 1 second. These will be followed by 1 minute, 10 minutes, 30 minutes and then every hour for 21 hours. At this point there will be a 2 hour wait period for a delayed response. In case no response is received in this time period, the #A17 Failure message will be triggered.
If a timeout occurs the Hub will reject the transaction and will send back to the OBP a callback with the error message #A17 Distribution Failure.
